Optimizing the Transient Performance of Thermoelectric Generator with PCM by Taguchi Method

Phase change material (PCM) is an effective thermal management method to improve the thermoelectric conversion performance of a system. PCM can not only absorb excessive energy at high temperature protect module (TEM) and increase maximum available range, but also compensate for intermittent extend working time TEM. In paper, transient improved by adding traditional generator (TEG) Due low conductivity PCM, metal fins are used PCM. To achieve efficiency TEG system, Taguchi employed. Four factors heat source power, type, height box, filling ratio respectively. The results show that power has greatest effect, least effect on Conversion from electricity about 1.472% during 2300 s heating cooling stages.
